THE

MESSAGE

Dear aspiring architects,

It gives me great pleasure to be able to connect with you through this message on the various facets of architectural education and on the unique ways in which KCoA brings together an all-encompassing pedagogy that enables a holistic teaching and learning experience at the institution.

Architectural education is the foundation course for you to explore the broad and expanding category of creative industries that include several disciplines within art, design, and management. Fine arts, product design, built environment design, parametric design, urban design and planning, project management, etc. are to name a few professions that diverge from this basic foundation of architecture.

We, at KCoA, provide you with an excellent and diverse team of professors who acquired their education from eminent institutes and are committed to their teaching and practice of the profession. We associate with architects who are in continuous practice and possess a pool of visiting professors who are pioneers in their respective fields. Our pedagogy goes beyond the regular syllabus, and we strive to bring experiential learning to the students by including hands-on workshops, seminars, technical sessions, and expert talks.

Apart from establishing new standards in education, we stand with the vision of KMEA Management to make quality education accessible to students from every stratum of society. Our students enjoy the various opportunities that are created beyond the regular curriculum, and we are proud of the various achievements that our students have brought to the institution. We have been continuously acquiring top ranks at the university level and have produced students who have achieved high ranks in national and international entrance examinations and competitions.

Our research centers were established to address the myriad of environmental and social situations that can be resolved through design interventions. We also look into theory building and heritage conservation through our studios and publications. The study tours at KCoA are carefully planned to be an eye-opener for the students to understand our living environment in a deeper and more experiential way.

The Society of Student Architects at KCoA enables students to explore their potential beyond academics through several initiatives, including arts, literature, and sports activities. Our SSA has been continuously active in the National Association of Student Architects and has achieved several rewards as part of the annual NASA conventions.

I wholeheartedly welcome you to KMEA College of Architecture to join us in this exciting and creative journey of learning architecture and beyond.

Sincerely,

Ar. Joseph John
