Anoop Sivanandan is an assistant professor at KMEA College of Architecture, Aluva. Previously, he was working as Assistant professor in Holly Crescent College of Architecture, Aluva. He is currently the second-year coordinator at KMEA and plays a key role in the process-based studios of the institution. His key research interest includes the study of thermal comfort in buildings. Currently researching on adaptive and dynamic façades that are feasible for the warm and humid climate of Kerala.
In addition to academics and research, he gained practical experience in the field when he worked as Project Architect at Prasaanth and Associates Kochi and Techno architecture.inc Bangalore. He now has his own practise, astylar architects, which focuses mainly on tropical modern concepts in the field of architecture that responds to the climatic and environmental conditions of the region.
Anoop started his teaching career at Holly Crescent College of Architecture in late 2016. He joined KMEA college of Architecture in mid-2018 and is currently coordinating the second-year students. Apart from second year architecture design studio, he also teaches subjects such as Building services, Professional Practise, Town planning , Professional Skill enhancements, Maintenance repair, retrofitting of building and working drawing.
Before joining KMEA, Anoop was working as Project Architect at Prasaanth and Associates Kochi and Techno Architecture.inc Bangalore. With Prasanth and Associates, he had associated with many large scale commercial, mixed use as well as residential projects. As part of his private practise, he focusses mainly on residential and commercial buildings with more emphasis on sustainable design practise.
During his tenure as an Assistant professor in Holly Crescent College of Architecture, Aluva, he gained experience in academics and research and nurtured his skillsets along the field of teaching.
