Biography
Ar. Namitha Krishnan is an assistant professor at KMEA College of Architecture who did her post-graduation in Masters of Architecture with specialisation in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Her background includes professional work experience for almost 8 years in different places including Auroville, Trivandrum and Kochi. In addition she was also the campaign lead for National Level Campaign on Sanitation and public toilets during her journey with Recyclebin studio. Few of her main professional experience includes being the lead architect in different residential and urban scale projects including Model Eco Corridor in Athirappilly (UNDP and Haritha Kerala Mission), Backyard Urbanism with Trivandrum Corporation related to waste based backyards, AMRUT Scheme project of low line park in Trivandrum. Her practice is focused more into urban design, campaign formulation on various socially relevant areas and residential projects in Kerala. She is also a part of the 0 waste
campaign conducted by IIA Cochin centre and Cochin Municipal Corporation and also in the extended executive committee at IIA Cochin Centre. At KCOA, she is engaged with semester 7 housing studio and semester 9 urban design studio and also is currently in charge of coordinating NAAC related works.
