Jency Kuruvila qualified as an architect from College of Engineering Trivandrum (Kerala University) in 2011. Immediately after her under graduation, she undertook a Post-Graduation in Building Engineering & Management from School of Planning & Architecture (New Delhi), which she completed in 2013. She got campus placement from SPA New Delhi as a Project Manager in CBRE South Asia Private Limited, Bangalore, a post that she left in 2014 to join the academics stream. She has worked as independent project management consultant for some private projects.
Her academic career commenced in 2014 as Assistant Professor in DC School of Architecture and Design, Vagamon. Later in 2015, she joined KMEA College of Architecture and is currently an Assistant Professor here. Her research interests include topics in the field of Architectural & Design Science.
Jency’s career as an academician commenced in 2014 as an Assistant Professor at DC School of Architecture & Design, Vagamon. She joined KMEA College of Architecture in 2015 and has been handling Architectural Design Studios for Second years & Third years. Her theory subjects include Building Climatology, Construction Technology & Project Management, Disaster Mitigation & Management.
Being a post graduate in Construction Project Management, she has practiced as a project coordinator during her 1 year tenure in CBRE South Asia Private Limited Bangalore. She has handled interior fitout projects for various multinational companies viz. Morgan Stanley, Cisco etc. As an architect, her focus is mainly on residential buildings.
Jency commenced her academic career in 2014 as an assistant professor in DC School of Architecture and Design Vagamon and later on joined KMEA College of Architecture in 2015. Currently she is handling the S6 design studio in KMEA CoA and teaching construction technology & project management. Being in the academic field for the last 5 years, Jency is currently planning to do a research on design of building facades in tropical climate. As part of the research she has conducted a climatology workshop in the KMEA Architecture College campus during October 2019 .
