Ar. Namita is an Assistant Professor at KMEA College of Architecture, Aluva, since November 2021 and a practicing architect focusing on Inclusive Design. Before her post- graduation and subsequent teaching career, she had been professionally practicing in Puducherry wherein she was specializing in healthcare, institutional and commercial
projects.
As Assistant Professor at KMEA CoA, she teaches inclusive design and applied ergonomics along with Architectural Design and PSE studios. She is also guiding 3 students with their Theses and 4 students with their Dissertations. Parallelly she researches on inclusive design for Inclusivity of all, which is an advancement of her Post-graduation research.
During her graduation, she had taken to cost efficient design approach through her internship at COSTFORD, NGO firm established by Laurie Baker in Thrissur, Kerala. She built on her proficiency at CS Menon Architects, Thrissur before graduation. Upon graduation, she worked as Junior Architect at Puducherry wherein she has worked on Hospital, Commercial and Institutional projects. She has authored 15 articles on Rethinking the Future. She has conducted seminars and workshop as Resource Person on Sustainable and Cost-Effective Construction Techniques. As part of Accessible India Campaign, she has prepared accessibility reports on Government Buildings in Chandigarh for DEPwD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.
