Biography

Ar. Remya R. Kumar is an Assistant Professor at KMEA College of Architecture, Aluva and a practicing Architect in Kochi, Kerala. She works as a freelance Architect and undertakes mostly residential, commercial and Hospital Interior Design Projects. She is currently handling the foundation studio at KMEACOA. Her key research interest includes the study of evolution of domestic architecture of Kerala. Currently researching on similarities between the vernacular architecture of Kerala and south East Asia. In addition to academics and research, she gained practical experience in the field when she worked as Jr. Architect at Costford, Jr. Architect at C-Earth and Project Architect at Square Drive Living Spaces.

Teaching

Remya started her teaching career with Sneha College of Architecture (Pallakad, Callicut University), and subsequently worked as Assistant professor in SCMS School of Architecture (Karukutty- MG university), NRM School of Architecture (Kollam- CUSAT). She joined Kmea in 2021 and handles subjects such as History of Architecture I,II & III, Professional Skill Enhancement, Working Drawings along with the foundation studio.
