Biography

Rinosh Cherian Thomas is an Architect Planner with specialization in Urban and Regional Planning. In his 8 years of professional experience, he has been closely involved in healthcare architecture, residential architecture, master planning exercises and various city development projects under Smartcity and AMRUT schemes. Before joining KMEA, he was working with the Department of Town and Country Planning as Planner Associate for 3 years and was involved in preparation of masterplans for various towns and other town planning schemes in the Ernakulam district. After his Bachelors in Architecture, he had worked with a leading Architecture firm in Bangalore and also practiced as freelance architect mainly on residential and interior design projects.

Teaching

Rinosh started his teaching career with KMEA college of Architecture in January 2020. He is handling Architecture studio for semester 6 and Urban Design studio7. His theory subjects includes Housing, Building Materials and Technology and GIS elective workshop.

Experience

1) Regional Town Planning Office, Ernakulam, Kerala, India; Dec 2016 – Dec 2019

In the post of Planner Associate in Town Planning Department, Government of Kerala on contract basis for assisting the department in the preparation of various plans under process in the district.

Major Projects involved – Preparation of Master plans for 2 towns, Masterplan for Smartcity and AMRUT schemes, 2018 flood inundation study.

2) Arun Nalapat Architects, Bangalore, India; Nov 2012 – Mar 2014

Practice of Ar. Arun Nalapat, which is a medium sized firm doing a wide variety of projects in several countries. The practice has won numerous awards and has been recognised in various category for design excellence.
