Biography

Ms.  Shebin Jawahar is an Associate Professor in KMEA College of Architecture, Aluva. She is an Architect with 6 years of experience in teaching. Her background includes experience in residential, commercial, hospitality architecture as well as Interior Design. Before joining KCOA, she worked at Kochi and Bangalore as an Architect. She has a private practice of architecture mainly focussed on residential design in Kerala.

Teaching 

Shebin started her teaching career as Assistant Professor in KMEA College of Architecture in 2016. She is currently coordinating the third-year students, before that she has been the Foundation Studio coordinator in 2018, 2019 and 2020. She coordinated various hands-own workshops like Upcycling, Sculpture and Form Finding Structural workshop for the first-year students. She dealt with the subjects like Disaster Management, Building Materials and Construction, History of Architecture and Working Drawing. 

Experience

Currently focusing on residential projects. Her experience in Architecture includes working with Ecorhythm Architects, Ajit Associates and SFS Homes at Kochi.

At Ecorhythm, she was associated with Housing, Hospitality and Commercial Projects. While working with Ajit Associates, she had undertaken large scale group housing and Institutional Projects. In SFS Homes her expertise was in Interior design of Common areas and individual Apartment interiors. Currently she has private practise, mainly on residential 

buildings with more emphasis on sustainable design practise.

Awards

Extra Mile award for Outstanding performance at SFS Homes, Kochi for Successfully completing 73 Apartment Interior Design in 2012.

Merit award- Thesis Topper- (Master of Planning with Specialisation in Environmental Planning) School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi for the thesis “Environmental Flow Restoration of Nila River, Kerala.
