Shyne is an Architect with more than 17 years of experience, out of which, more than 6 years were spent in academic roles. After finishing his 5 years Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2002 from Kerala University, India and working in India for 2 years, he relocated to Dubai in 2004. He continued to work in UAE till 2010 in various offices and up to the role of Project Architect, thereby gaining vast international industrial experience in these years. He has strived to be update with the knowledge development in the industry and became a LEEP AP (USGBC) in 2008 as well as attended various certificate courses from time to time. In 2010 he joined School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi in their Master’s Program in Urban Design as part of his long term plans of continuing education in the field of urban issues as well as shifting the professional focus towards India. After completing the course in 2012, he joined as Associate Professor at Holy Crescent College of Architecture, Aluva and thereafter joined KMEA College of Architecture in 2013 as Head of Department and Associate Professor. He started his part time research for PhD program at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai in 2017 and is pursuing the same.
Over the seven years of teaching, he was continuously engaged with Architectural design studios and had the opportunity to be involved in all semesters. His major involvement was for the formative years of the students during the 1st and 2nd year. As a part of the faculty group in a newly established school, he could contribute in building up the specific design pedagogy intended over the years. He has also taught various subjects like building materials and construction, professional practice, building services, services in tall buildings, sociology, architectural graphics etc. With his many years of professional experience, he could relate his lectures with different best practices and practical aspects of the field, thereby expanding the scope of the subject and improve upon the content delivery.
